What I Want to be When I Grow Up

When I grow up, I have two paths I want to go through. I either want to be a lawyer or fashion stylist/ designer. Beign a lawyer would be more of my realistic job. But who knows? Maybe I will become a stylist. My "dream-come-true" would be to work with either the stars in coordinating their outfits or to work with designers in coordinating their clothes for fashion shows or even to have my creations at Fashion Week. I have always loved clothes and fashion. I think that though clothes are meaningless, they help give a first impression to other people as well as it gets you good jobs. The way you wear white pants affects how other look at you, whether you pair it off with a jersey or a fitted top. I would love to create something or a line that had something for everybody.

Jeannie Mai, a well known fashion stylist who has her very own show called "How Do I LooK?" in which she helps people change the way they dress, is a very sucessful stylist.

Roberto Cavalli, an Italian designer, is a very sucessful desgner who gets featured in many fashion weeks. His self-entitled brands such as Just Cavalli are very sucessful and is considered a branded brand.

High School Bible Class

Today, we went to visit the High School Bible Class. When we came in, they were talking about how to write a good essay, such as good transitions, and not to have things repeating. Then they recited a Bible verse that they had to memorize. They had a way to memorize it- they got into groups and they each got a verse, and then they made actions to help them remember. After that, they went over a homework/ daily Bible Homework. It was cool to see them.

Favorite Story Character

My favorite story character comes from the book Just Listen by Sarah Dessen. The main character's name is Annabel Green, who is a tv commercial and advertisement model. She seems to have it all in her commercials. However, its far from "perfect". Her so called friends are mean to her, because of one dramatic night which put her as the evil, boyfriend stealer. Her sister Whitney had moved back with her parents, because she was suffereing from an eating disorder. But then, her life changes as she meets Owen Armstrong, an anger-management student who is obsessed with music. He is somebody who tells the truth all the time, no matter what. This motivates Annabel to do the same. Both of them start hanging out and bonding which leads her to face her fears, and to speak the truth. This helps her mend her other friendships. The book is not a Christian book, but I think it teaches us a lot.

Here is one of the beaches, as Senegal is near a sea.

Favorite Place That I've Lived In

One of the most interesting places I've lived in is Senegal. It is located in West Africa. Most people don't really know where that is. In fact, before moving there, I didn't eve know what it was. Then, when I got there, all the people were really nice. As you walk down the street, the people there will greet you and ask how your day is going. As a result of that, I knew a lot of people that lived in my building or even on my road. Here in Singapore, the people only greet people they know personally, and they don't talk to other people, or at least even greet them.

I lived in the capital , Dakar. There wasn't much to do in the city, because there weren't even any malls. But you could drive out of the city for a day, and have fun in neighboring cities and countries even. I remeber going to Gambia, a neighboring country. It was quite fun.

Now, in Senegal, there is a mall. Some of my old friends have told me about it. It is not like in Singapore, which has a lot of malls. There isn't even a public service to it, like in Singapore. But it is a nice place, and I really miss it. I love Singapore, but sometimes, I wish I was back in Senegal.
